Monday morning madness

So this morning started out crazy, the older boy had a fever last night, which of course means - no daycare today. The kids have had a few different viruses since the new year causing me to put a big dent into my brand new vacation time, the hubs has stayed home a few times too. So we decided last night that I would stay home today that way he could go in and start the week (his job is a little more important than mine). So that was the plan. So his 630 alarm goes off this morning, and I am not kidding you he rolled over and told me that he was going to back to sleep and I could go to work! Seriously, I have to leave by 7:15 when I'm not dropping the kids off at daycare! I flew around like a mad woman trying to get around in time. Then realized after digging in the sock drawer wasting 5 minutes that I didn't have a matching pair of brown dress socks, so I figured screw it. No one can see my socks anyways, right? WRONG

NICE! At least they're the same color. When I was pregnant with the older one, I actually wore 2 different Nike's for Lord knows how long before I realized that they were each a different pair! They were each red and gray, just in case that makes up for it! So this was actually mild!

So anyways I finally get all ready and realize I forgot to start the car! It is 19 degrees here in the big K! I let it go for a few minutes, and hit the road. Getting on the highway I realized this -

Wonderful! Oh well, who uses those anyways, right?

I finally got to work and got logged into my computer 4 minutes late - I do get a 4 minute 'grace period' Unfortunately I didn't have time to eat so I was starving! I finally ate some oatmeal, Starbucks style, mine is never as good as theirs, but it was still pretty good. I added nuts, a little bit of brown sugar and raisins and craisins.

I was still starving half the morning, I know it was b/c I didn't eat breakfast at the normal time. Then came lunch, did I mention I forgot my lunch? Well actually I make my lunch and all of my snacks the night before, but you know since I wasn't going to work and all... anyways I figured I would just eat my 'emergency' can of chicken noodle soup, apparently I had an emergency awhile back and never replaced it. Great. Good thing we had a lunch vendor today. I ended up getting a salad with grilled chicken, artichokes and tomatoes with a vinaigrette dressing. I forgot to take a picture, it would have been a great one too!

I was in a funk at dinner due to some not-so-great news I had received on the way home. And the husband had his kempo class tonight, so it was left over night. I picked at left over chicken and noodles, but didn't eat much. I spent the evening playing Mickey Mouse Raceways and reading books with the boys, which was the best way to spend an evening! That's all I have for tonight! Glad Monday is over! =)

Liar Liar

So yesterday was my first ever post - and I have to admit I am a big fat liar. I said that I really didn't need to lose weight, maybe 10-15 pounds - uh yeah I need to lose weight! I was getting all ready for my girls night, and put on my 'comfy' jeans, not such a good idea. I will admit I am pretty bloated right now - unfortunately you can't use 'bloated' as an excuse for your love handles! grr! Needless to say I didn't wear them! I did have a great time at game night though! I do love my girls! I didn't overeat either like I tend to do at those type of functions. I did have a few drinks though, which were too sweet and gave me stomach ache, so I switched to water. All in all it was a great night filled with lots of laughter!

Today was a pretty relaxed day, we stayed home as it was snowing (again) and icing in our area, the hubs went to get a few groceries while I stayed home with the boys. I did plan for him to be gone at the same time as nap time so that I could work out. I am getting over a nasty cold, so I haven't worked out all week. Smart cookie that I am I decided that I would do 'an easy' Yoga workout. You see I have never done Yoga before, I really thought that it was an 'easier' workout. WOWZER was I wrong! I did the Biggest Loser Yoga for Weight Loss, and it was great. My legs were on fire the entire time!!

So onto food for the day - You will have to excuse the pics - my husband thinks I am insane for taking pics of my food, so I was trying to hurry and snap them while he wasn't paying attention LOL He will get it soon I'm sure and then he'll probably direct me how to do them 'right' LOL ;o)

Breakfast I made a quick banana nut oatmeal with a scoop of dark chocolate pb, yum!

Then was lunch, I had just worked out and honestly on weekends I am so busy I forget to snack properly and I was starving and shaky, so I made turkey on an sandwich thin, and also had carrots and red peppers dipped in a little bit of ranch

The hubs was craving chicken and noodles for dinner tonight, so I decided to put my dinner on smaller plate so that I wouldn't eat so much. I also had a salad, just to add some greens!

Newbie

After reading health and weight loss blogs for months, I've decided to start my own! I pretty much have no idea what I am doing, so this will be interesting! I have never been athletic in my life, but want to be, my goal is to run a 5k - did I mention I have never run before??! I used to walk 2 miles a day, but then came baby #2 and things have been insanely busy ever since. I have 2 boys ages 2 and 3 which = crazy all the time! I work full time outside of the home (boo) and commute about 30 minutes - not too bad, but still annoying when I don't get home until 5:30. I currently work out on weekends, I am doing the Jillian Michaels 30 day shred, I also like Gilad, but don't have DVR (yet) so if I don't get the kids down for nap by 12:30, or don't get home in time then I can't do it! I am really enjoying the 30 day shred though, so that's all I've been doing! I also got the biggest loser yoga, I hear Yoga is GREAT! I've never done it, and I need stress relief, so bring it on!! I haven't tried it yet, mainly b/c I can't stop working out with Jillian! ;o) I am looking for classes in my area on Tuesday and Thursday nights to go to. It is hard to be away from the kids after I am away from them all day, but I feel SO much better when I work out, plus last time I tried to work out with them home and awake, I got ran over by a Tonka Truck numerous times - not fun!! My husband just started doing some type of Kempo class on Mon, Wed, Fri, which is great for him - he has high blood pressure and needs to lose some weight to get it under control - so I am totally supporting him to take these classes - although I must admit I am a little jealous! So we decided that the other nights that he is not at his gym I can work out. I haven't looked into any weekend classes yet b/c weekends are hectic, and he is always busy, so if I can find a place that offers child care for my little monsters boys that would be another option. In the mean time I am trying to stay motivated by doing my videos at home, and squeezing in the occasional walk on my lunch break - which will be once easier when Spring gets here!

This blog will help me to keep track of what I eat, how much I do (or don't) workout. It will be an outlet for me in all ways! I hope to make lots of new bloggie friends - especially those who can smuggle me some Trader Joes ;o) and change my life - my main goal is to tone up, eat healthy, push myself to be stronger and healthier than ever! I am not super over weight, I would like to lose about 10 pounds - maybe 15. I am 5'4" and 140 - I don't diet b/c it gets me nowhere, and once I hear diet I start eating brownies like crazy! I have decided this will be a life change, not a diet! I want to set an example for my boys that health is a priority, and what we eat greatly effects us. I am not vegitarian, or vegan or anything like that, I do eat like crap sometimes, but I am changing that, and I feel much better when I eat healthy! My budget is pretty tight, as you can imagine with two toddlers in daycare, one in preschool, we are also currently looking to buy a house - if that doesn't work this year then we are still moving to a bigger house!! We have lived in our home for 5 years - and it was the PERFECT home for our little family of 3 - adding another little boy sure did cramp our style! I have lots of obsticals in my way when it comes to being healthy - I am trying to push past those and stop using them as excuses not to do what I need to do for my health and my body!

Enough babbling - I'm sure you've heard enough for now!!

Here is how I started my day - you'll have to excuse the pics for a while - I don't have the best camera, or cutsie dishes ;o)

Also excuse the huge bowl - I blew up my oatmeal in the microwave yesterday - not cool - so I decided to use a gargantuan bowl today just to be safe! I also had coffee x2 or 3 ;o) with creamer - one thing I can't give up! I will probably eat a turkey sandwich on a sandwich thin for lunch. Dinner will be a bust - girls game night!! Everyone is bringing a side and my Mother in Law is making veggie soup! That will be good for me, but I'm sure there will be lots of snacks and a few acoholic beverages included. I am incredibly close with my husbands family - his parents are our neighbors - yep just call us Raymond and Debra! LOL. Anyways all his sister and cousins will be there tonight for a fun filled night of games, and plenty of laughs and giggles!! See you all tomorrow!
